Happy Valley's new wine shop has delicious wines at even better prices!

One of the things I've missed most about Brooklyn is our local wine shops. There were at least three gems just a short walk away from our apartment. Each one offering delicious bottles at decent prices and lovely, knowledgeable staff. I'm looking at you Olivino, Bouchon, and Gnarly Vines.
Now there are a number of very nice wine shops in Happy Valley, but I find them to be quite expensive and somewhat difficult to navigate. I found a few reliable bottles for the house at the local supermarkets and saved our trips to the wine shop for special occasions. It was fine, but getting a bit boring.
The New Kid in Town
A few months ago, we noticed something new going into the old toy store space. The usual neighborhood speculation began...is it a Marks & Spencer's Food (please!!!!), another coffee place, a diner, or heaven-forbid, yet another estate agent!?
The denizens of Happy Valley still really want that M&S, but I for one am pretty happy with Winerack, which opened up in October on Yuen Yuen Street, just off Sing Woo Road.
Great Wine at Event Better Prices
“A lovely, relaxing environment with a wonderful selection and a knowledgeable and helpful staff.”
More than ready to abandon my supermarket wine for something better, I popped into the shop pretty soon after they opened. I found a lovely, relaxing environment with a wonderful selection and a knowledgeable and helpful staff.
I'd been looking for a good bottle of Viognier at an affordable price for a while now and Andreas pointed me in the direction of a few good ones. I really appreciated that he didn't try to sell me the most expensive bottle, but rather steered me toward the one that best matched my taste.
Since then I've been back almost weekly. In additional to the Viognier, I've tried some excellent bottles of Rosé, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir, Rioja, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Each time, I've been helped by such kind people who have deep knowledge of wine and a passion for what they do.
How to Find Winerack?
If you too want to experience this fab shop, look no further than 7 Yeun Yuen Street in Happy Valley. According to their website they also have locations in Wan Chai, Sai Ying Pun, Tsim Sha Tsui and Sai Kung. If you're not near any of those locations, don't fret! They've got a great website where you can order online. Even better, they deliver!
Please note, this post is not sponsored in any way. I'm just a happy customer and an enthusiastic fan.
