About The NickelWorks
When I was six years old, one of my aunts gave me a National Geographic children’s atlas. That book and a natural curiosity about people and places set me on a path that would lead from New England to Europe, New York City, and now Hong Kong.

I originally started The NickelWorks to keep friends and family updated on my experiences as a newbie in Asia. But seven years and one pandemic later, I find myself stuck in a rut of doing the same old things all the time.

The last time this happened I was still a swinging single in NYC. I climbed out of that rut by challenging myself to try one new thing each week. Sometimes it was a big experience like a trip, but most often it was something as simple as a new restaurant or a book by a new author. As a result, I was a lot more engaged and much more joyful.

This new version of The NickelWorks is a continuation of that challenge to find more joy and fulfillment through new things and experiences. It's also a place to share information and resources about the good stuff I find along the way.
